AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A 6-WEEK RESEARCH EXPERIENCE PRIMARILY FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS is available in the area of sensors and machine learning for solar monitoring and control. The program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation and is offered by the Sensor Signal and Information Processing Center (SenSIP). The IRES will address research associated with sensor and machine learning applications in renewable energy systems. The selected students will travel to the University of Cyprus and spend about 5 weeks at the UCy KIOS Center in Nicosia Cyprus. The residence will be at close by UCy student dormitories. During the same period, projects will train IRES students to interpret data from sensors on solar systems by studying and programming machine learning algorithms. The IRES program currently accepts applications in order to form a diverse, cohort of researchers for this summer.
